Ahold Delhaize agrees to acquire Tesco Czechia and Slovakia.
Ahold Delhaize, the food retail group based in Zaandam, the Netherlands, agreed on 30 October 2026 to acquire 100% of Tesco's businesses in Czechia and Slovakia, which run over 360 supermarkets, hypermarkets and convenience stores plus over 100 franchise stores and employ over 14,000 people. Completion is subject to regulatory clearances; Ahold Delhaize expects it in the fourth quarter of 2027. It was signed on 30 October 2026. It had not completed by 2 November 2026.
